"Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming"
Notice that the coming of Christ is imminent. It could come at any moment. It is this fact, Jesus Himself tells us, that keeps us always alert for the coming of Christ -- especially after the events of AD 70 when the Roman army fulfilled the near version of the events in the beginning of this chapter. The Lord is coming back and he could come back at any day. The day that the Lord is coming back is such a closely guarded secret that even the Son, in His humanity, was not disclosed the information.
