Breakfast with Solomon - Proverbs 7:19

"For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey"

What this verse points out is that when a husband travels, it can result in a wife not having her relational needs met and seeking to go outside of the marriage to have them met. It is selfish and deeply damaging for either party in a marriage to go outside of their marriage to have their relational needs met. Note that the adulteress in this verse has planned her husband's absence. One thing that many men do not realize is that if they are gone a lot to the point where they are tempted to go outside of their marriage vows, their wife might also be tempted to pursue a relationship with a sympathetic man. The man who is lured by this sexually aggressive woman needs to realize that he is being lured into a trap. He may think he wants to be trapped, but the consequences will be devastating. Men, don't travel so much that your wife is neglected.

Until tomorrow,

Gil Stieglitz
